How many times can I go to the chippy while in England for three weeks? You don't want to know, especially when Lymm Fish & Chips is within walking distance and I have a really nice umbrella.
I ate here more times than I care to share and let me tell you, I would want it to be my last meal on Earth! There is just something magical about fish and chips from a chippy and nowhere in the States comes even close.
This place was always busy and very efficient.  My awesome uncle had a tradition of grabbing a pint at the pub next to it while we waited, and let me tell you that only added to the authenticity.
The orders were always packed properly, and the portion sizes are massive.  They also make Chinese food which I thought was strange, but I have heard it's also quite good.  Don't hesitate. It's cheap and cheerful and even better after an ice cold pint!

The old English staple, the chippy just doesn't get any better than this one. On the quaint and cobbled  Bridgewater Street close to the brightly coloured barges on the canal, Lymm Fish & Chips is always full, and I mean ALWAYS! This is a testament to the food- it ain't greasy chips and sub-standard takeaway. I would say that it is the Michelin starred restaurant  of the chippy world.

Listen Yelpers, for me size  DOES matter and thankfully Lymm Fish & Chips agrees with me. Just you go there and order a portion of chips! Traditionally served in an open cone (don't  they seem to taste nicer this way?) you are handed a pound of potatoes wrapped in paper. Although prone to exaggeration, I kid you not. These are the freshest, hottest and BIGGEST portions you will ever find. When I received my chip feast I had to ask the lady behind the counter what sized portion it was ( they have child 80p, regular £1.10 and large £1.40). Unless specified you will receive a regular but this will feed 2 people.

Lymm Fish & Chips also doubles as a Chinese takeaway and once again, it does not skimp on its portion size. The food is restaurant quality and for £4.50 for most dishes and £5.50 for king prawn meals, this is terrific value, even though rice is not included in the price. Whenever I go there, I am usually buying food for six hungry people and you need no more than four meals to accommodate a group of this size.  I love the fact that this is a chippy with a lunchtime special( £4.50 for a meal including rice or chips and a drink ),  it actually draws no distinction with itself and a "proper" restaurant and why should it? I would not be surprised if soon it will have an early bird special and outside seating!

ive lived in lymm all my life 42 years..ive seen many owners of this chippy and i can honestly say this is the worst its ever been..curry sauce is far to sweet..chips are dry cut far to thin.i really am struggling to find something good to say about this chippy..when i want a chippy i drive out of lymm into lacthford 5 miles away. thats how bad it is..my 5 year old niece wouldnt even eat the chips one . she said there horrible..now if you cant even please a 5 year old with chips something must be wrong..save your money and go else where
